AeroMap registration procedure

2003.11.23 AeroMap OnLine registration

Starting with Version 2.3 AeroMap supports the so called "OnLine registration". AeroMap OnLine not only makes the software registration faster but it requires less cooperation on your side. OnLine rgistratin is using the internet to exchange data between your machine and the registration server. Today's PDAs share - when docked - the same internet connection as your destop PC. It you wish, you could test it by launching Pocket Internet Explorer and visiting a known web address. If you see the page, AeroMap will perform as expected. In case of any truble, you may also use the conventional e-mail based registration process.

2003.09.02 IMPORTANT MULTI-LANGUAGE NOTES

AeroMap 2.2c will use hungarian language by default, regardless of the selected installation type. If you want to use other languages follow the next menu sequence:

Fjl [File]
Belltsok [Configuration]
Nyelv [Language]
Here, select the preferred language than chose OK and answer YES

[please read carefully]

Your AeroMap licence code can be found in the media pack. You will need this code the first time you start Aeromap. The Registration itself is a multi step process which may seem rather complex, but is necessary to avoid unauthorised copying. We will need your cooperation and understanding.

The Registration

The first time you start AeroMap the registration screen appears. Please fill in the requested information.

- Enter Your licence code
- Enter Your Name
- Enter Your Company's Name
- Select registration type (not yet supported)

The password is really unnecessary, and we might stop using it in future version. Just for convenience, put in "1234" or anything you like.

If you enter more characters in a field than acceptable, the machine gives a faint click.

- Press the "REGISTRATION" button.

After entering registration data the Software creates a so-called request key, which is authorised by the AeroMap authorisation entity. The authorisation process requires e-mail and usually done with a maximum of one working day delay. Without an authorisation code the application will not start.

The request file is created on the handheld device in the [\aeromap] folder. Please send this file attached to an e-mail to [aeromap@navisys.hu]. To attach the request.key to an e-mail you first have to copy it form the mobile device to the desktop computer. To find the file, open ActiveSync and click the [Explore] icon. A Folder window opens, find the "Mobile Device" icon and double click on it. Select the "root" directory of the mobile device, which is usually named "My Pocket PC". After entering the root, you will see the AeroMap folder. Double Click on it. Now you can see the request.key file. Copy this file to your desktop computer, attach it to an e-mail and send to the given address. We are processing request keys on a first come first served basis. The reply should arrive to you within one working day.

The reply will contain a brief description about the content of itself, and the so-called authorization code attached. The authorization code is called "v2authcode.dat". Copy this file to your mobile device into the "\aeromap" folder and start AeroMap. Uppon start, the application will find the v2authcode.dat and will enable the application.

PLEASE SAVE THE V2AUTHCODE.DAT FILE AND DO NOT FORGET YOUR PASSWORD. THESE MIGHT BE USEFULL WHEN YOU HAVE TO REINSTALL THE APPLICATON DUE TO A POWER FAILURE OF THE IPAQ. ONECE GIVEN, THE V2AUTHCODE.DAT CAN BE USED TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF THE APPLICATION.

DO NOT USE AUTHORIZATION CODE FROM UNKNOWN SOURCES SINCE IT MIGHT PREVENT THE APPLICATION FORM WORKING CORRECTLY.
